In 2004, I was googling around to find something about Joe Biden for a piece I was writing. What I found was a short-lived blog titled Joe Biden Is Thugged Out, devoted to celebrating the Delaware Senator's bodacious pugilism. Sadly, the blog shut down after a couple posts. But now, as Joe Biden comes to deliver his nomination speech as vice president, heed the words of Rick Ross: Now it's back to the thugging.

DENVER -- Tammy Duckworth -- Iraq war veteran, Illinois Veterans Affairs director, amputee and netroots favorite -- is also smacking John McCain silly. She's talking about supporting troops with more than rhetoric. Wants us to win in Afghanistan. "Instead of destroying the enemies who attacked us on 9/11, we diverted our military might to Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11." Barack Obama "knows that wherever you stand on the war, you must love the warrior, and he does."

And here comes something Mike Lillis of the Windy has reported on that I've been surprised to see has disappeared as an attack on McCain. "Unlike John McCain, Barack Obama fought for a new GI Bill, and won... So I know what he'll do as president." No privatizing the VA like McCain wants. "Because when we enlisted, no one asked us where we live and how much money we have," she says, "and no one should ask that after we've bled...for our country." And even a reference to Joe Biden's son, Beau, who's about to deploy to Iraq.
